BH-CP 900 · Screw compressor pack, ammonia
900 kW−40 °CNH₃

A 12,000-tonne controlled-atmosphere store for apples, with an ammonia plant whose waste heat warms the packing hall.
The co-op needed to hold a full harvest until late spring without losing firmness, on a site with a weak power supply.
Twenty-four CA rooms on one low-charge NH₃ plant, variable-speed screw compressors and heat recovery to the packing hall.
Apples leave the store in May at harvest quality, and the plant uses 22% less energy than the co-op's old freon rooms.
